I can't believe it's New Year's Eve already. I currently have a post bouncing around in my head but it will probably have to wait for tomorrow as I need to go to bed. I'm also not really sure if it's worth posting or not. We'll see.
I just made an exciting find though. Back in October I mentioned on one of my show and tells about some Christmas stuff I had found on ebay and that I was trying to find the matching tree skirt. This was to replace the same tree skirt I had years ago that I had given up. I've been looking for this skirt off and on for at least 2 years. I found it!!! I just happened to pop in daisy kingdom tree skirt to the ebay search and there it was. I hadn't used that search in a month or more and was so excited to see it there. So I guess it's time to go cash in my pennies to pay for that one. And just in time too since Sara ruined the current tree skirt last week. Of course I may not be able to use it for a few years unless I make sure that she is firmly on board with the idea of using the damn liter box.

!!! Happy New Year !!!
And how lovely you have found your matching tree skirt!
And, well hmmm.... if I won't ask I won't learn - What is a tree skirt?
Darn cats...cant live with em but you cant live without them. Mine somehow know when Kayla lets me sleep in...because each time she does, they wont let me sleep.
I love finding a good ebay score!
Yay for finding the tree skirt!!
Congrats on finding the tree skirt!
My 20 year old Cornish Rex goes renegade from the litter box every so often. He was my Mother's cat until she passed away in 2001 so it took me several tries to figure out his issue(s). Although he rarely grooms himself (I've seen it exactly twice in the years I've had him) which means he needs regular baths because everything sticks to his oily skin which means he is dirty often ... but despite being dirty, he prefers a PRISTINE litter box. I'm serious. More than two tinkles and he's looking for somewhere else to go ... say, the carpeted corner near the china hutch. He also doesn't like to share a litter box. I discovered this when I brought home a second kitty. Finally, he prefers his litter box uncovered. If I put the smell containing cover on it - he heads for the nice clean carpet.
Also, before you toss your tree skirt try ridding the smell using a mixture of a 16 oz bottle of hydrogen peroxide, 2-3 tsp of baking soda and 1-2 tsp of Dawn dishwashing liquid. This is the solution I use when Puddy decides the carpet is a better idea. It works wonders. (the hydrogen peroxide might bleach darker colors).
If I don't catch the potty right away, I sprinkle corn starch on the area first to soak up the embedded urine. Once that dries, I vacuum it up and apply the peroxide mixture.
Happy New Year!
