Show And Tell

So for this weeks show and tell I have a couple pictures of something that left me very torn this past week.

See my friend...

Mrs. Dove...

Returned.

And I couldn't decide if I was enchanted by her choice of location...

Or annoyed since her choice of location included me not being able to water my flowers until she was done with the next round of babies. Since that would mean certain death to my flowers I opted to break out the camera and get some pics before I gently scared her away.

Of course for reasons I'm not entirely clear on she seems to like my back yard (cause it's so like able there with a dog that barks at her when she tries to land) she has continued to look for an ideal spot for her nest. She hasn't tried my flowers again but the other night I walked out on my porch to discover a large amount of dried grass scattered around. It took me noticing her sitting on top of the ceiling fan blade and a couple pieces of tiny eggs splattered on the porch also (yes, sadie was trying to eat it) to realize that she was attempting to build a nest on the ceiling fan blade and it fell. Poor mama dove. But please stay out of my flowers.

To see what the rest of the class is showing head on over to Stirrup-Queens and join in the fun.

Funny, the places she finds.
Hope she manages to find somewhere safe and not in the way for her nest.

I love doves! We have some the love to camp out on our roof and sing to us each morning. Love it! So sorry that she may have lost her eggs....boy do we all know what that's like.

Cool pics. Has mama Dove found a better nesting spot yet?

What can I say, Mrs Dove just likes you...

The doves sure do love hanging flower pots! I hope she finds a good place that will still let you water and keep your flowers looking good!

Poor Mrs. Dove! Your flower pot ~does~ look like a lovely place to make a home, though. I can't blame her for that!

If I were that size, I think I would rather have a home in a heap of gorgeous flowers too. Who could blame her? I hope she can find a safe spot for her nest.

Poor Dove....yeah, if it were your flower bed, you could have bid it a solid ta-ta....

I hope the bird finds a proper place.

Pigeons built a nest in my bathroom (on a shelf)...and I had a hard time managing to live through that...then one of the babies died and the parents just abandoned the nest and its remains....I can't forget the stench...I had to clean the whole goo...

Aww poor little thing. She does find interesting places to build her nest, doesn't she? I hope she finds a suitable place soon.

What an inviting area you must have! Hard to have to choose between fertility of flowers and fertility of birds.

Hopefully you can have both. And more.
